LINO Material ( Linoleum )

Linoleum, commonly shortened to lino, is a floor covering made from materials such as solidified linseed oil, pine resin, ground cork dust, sawdust, and mineral fillers such as calcium carbonate, most commonly on a burlap or canvas backing. Pigments are often added to the materials to create the desired colour finish.

Vinyl flooring is different from Lino flooring, Linoleum is made differently. It's a mix of renewable natural materials.

Pros :

+ Durable

+ Eco- friendly

+ Flooring can last 40 years

+ Linoleum is biodegradable and won’t take up space in landfills.

+ Does not emit harmful VOCs ( Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are gases that are emitted into the air from products or processes. Some are harmful by themselves, including some that cause cancer. )

+ Requires little maintenance.

Cons :

+ Resilient linoleum can get dented by high heels and furniture legs. Sharp objects may cut the materials.

+ Linoleum may darken or turn yellowish when exposed to sunlight, a process called "ambering".

+ New and freshly waxed linoleum flooring can be slippery.
